Cathy is a graduate of Furman University (BA), Candler School of Theology (MDiv) and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (D.Min). Cathy served Shiloh UMC (Marion), Chaplain of Columbia College, Associate Pastor at Trenholm Road UMC, and 13 years as Senior Pastor at Trinity UMC, Blythewood. At Trinity, she led the church to build a Habitat house, reach new members, establish Christian Assistance Bridge, a non-profit helping agency and start a counseling center. Cathy has a passion for missions, evangelism, preaching and worship. Her doctorate in ministry is in worship. She has training in Conflict Mediation through the Lombard Mennonite Peace Institute, and completed the Furman University Riley Institute Diversity Leaders training program. She was a founding Board member and secretary of Marion County Habitat for Humanity and previously served as President of the Central S.C. Habitat for Humanity Board. She served on the Cooperative Ministry Board, Columbia College Board of Visitors, Candler School of Theology Alumni Board, and 8 years as Chair of the S.C. Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry. The joy of her life is her daughter, Hannah, who is married and works as a School Counselor. Cathy’s hobbies include poetry, yoga, swimming and riding her horses.
