Many of you watched or even attended General Conference. This year’s General Conference was no doubt one of the most difficult ones. I chose to take my name off the ballot at Annual Conference because I didn’t want to experience the painful division and conflict expected at GC 2016. I’m deeply appreciative of those lay and clergy who attended, and the Columbia District was well represented by delegates, workers, and observers. In the midst of the conflict that still has yet to be resolved, Adam Hamilton offers a word of hope. Please continue to pray for our global united church that we may overcome differences and find a way to stay the UNITED Methodist Church.
